Sci Fi gaming means travelling to new and different worlds. Since travelling to new and different place on our own world can bring a completely different range of flora into view, I figure developing a good range of sci fi flora is pretty key to creating the on table illusion or evocation of a strange world.

This page is dedicated to my collection of flora related projects. The current list is:

  • Palm Trees ( from cake decorations)
  • Palm Tree models (from China/Ebay)
  • Metal Palm Trees (Essex)
  • Woodland Scenics Metal Armature Trees (Large 3-4″)
  • Woodland Scenics Metal Armature Trees (Small <3″)
  • Woodland Scenics Plastic Armature Trees (Large 3-4″)
  • Cacti (Pegasus Models)
  • Aquarium Plant Trees (cut down from Petstore Aquarium Plants)
  • Aquarium Plant Bushes (cut down from Petstore Aquarium Plants)
  • Styrofoam Trees (from faux foliage purchased at Micheals Crafts)
  • Lichen Bushes
  • Bump Chenille Evergreens
  • Wrapped Wire Standing Plants
  • Sentient Fauna (Martian Metals Traveller Aliens)
  • Faux Agave Bushes
  • Resurrected Marx Trees (seriously — and they look sci-fi-y)

I’ll be posting pictures on these as soon as I can!

Here’s a set of Jungle Pics (Aquarium Plant Trees and Bushes, Wrapped Wire Standing Plants, Faux Agave Bushes)

Now for some alien looking flora. These are the tips of fake craft store plants based up as trees. They clearly look plant like but not quite like something familiar on Terra. Two late model Tech 6 MBTs (Peter Pig T-55s) and a fire team of Tech 6 infantry (QRF Soviets) make their way through the trees.
